Shy about cold gifting?

Not sure if your ICP is working from the office, remote, or hybrid? Learn a simple call-ahead tactic to improve deliverability before sending a cold gift.
Thinking about sending gifts to cold prospects?
I've been getting this question lately:
"It's hard to know if our ICP are actually working from the office, or are remote, or some hybrid combination. Any ideas how we could tackle this when mailing a gift to them?"
Here's the thing...
People don't go into the office five days a week anymore.
So one way to get around this is:
Call the main office line ahead of sending the gift. Tell them you're sending your ICP a gift and ask them where you should send it. They won't likely give you the home address, but they will tell you what to expect after you send your gift.
Hope this helps!

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does remote and hybrid work make gift-based outbound harder?
Because it's no longer safe to assume a prospect is reliably in the office. A gift mailed to an office address might sit unopened if the recipient isn't actually there most days.
What's a simple way to check delivery expectations before sending a gift?
Calling the main office line ahead of time, explaining that a gift is being sent to a specific person, and asking where it should go or what to expect once it arrives.
Will the office typically give out a prospect's home address over the phone?
Not likely, but they will usually explain what to expect after the gift is sent, whether it'll be held for pickup, forwarded, or handled some other way internally.
Why does calling ahead matter more now than it might have a few years ago?
Because fewer people go into the office five days a week anymore. That shift means blindly mailing to an office address carries more risk of the gift never actually reaching the intended recipient.
What's the actual benefit of this call-ahead approach?
Improved deliverability. A quick call removes the guesswork about whether a gift will actually land in front of the right person, rather than sitting unclaimed at an office the prospect rarely visits.
