Want to 10x your agency's credibility in your vertical?
Speak at their conferences.
We did this as a ton at Scorpion; it helped us skyrocket our trust and credibility.
Here's what I learned: Event organizers prefer speakers who offer useful content, resonate with the intended audience, and create a memorable experience.
Here are 3 ways to increase your chances of being selected:
Organizers want speakers who are experts in their field. Showcase your achievements, credentials, publications, and areas of specialization.
Align your content with the event’s objectives, audience, and theme. Understand the purpose of the event and pitch topics that resonate with that.
Organizers look for fresh and innovative ideas. Offer a unique perspective or groundbreaking insights.
Keep in mind that being asked to speak on the main stage requires a great deal of trust and credibility that builds over time.
As you get there, consider other speaking opportunities, such as a panel or hosting a breakout. All are valuable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does speaking at vertical conferences build so much credibility?
Because it puts an agency directly in front of the exact audience it's trying to earn trust with, in a setting that already carries authority. That combination is what made speaking so effective for building trust at Scorpion.
What do event organizers actually look for in speakers?
Useful content, resonance with the intended audience, and a memorable experience. Meeting all three is what separates a speaker organizers want to bring back from one who's forgettable.
How important are credentials and expertise for getting selected?
Very. Organizers want speakers who are genuine experts, so showcasing real achievements, credentials, publications, and areas of specialization strengthens the case for being chosen.
Why does aligning content with the event's theme matter so much?
Because a pitch that doesn't fit the audience or purpose of the event is unlikely to get selected, no matter how strong the content is on its own. Understanding the event's actual objectives is what makes a pitch relevant.
Is the main stage the only valuable speaking opportunity worth pursuing?
No. Main stage slots require trust and credibility built over time, but panels and breakout sessions are valuable stepping stones that still build visibility and credibility along the way.
