Adopt the insider language of your vertical buyer
How do you adopt the insider language of your vertical buyer?
Not surprisingly, you do so by:
- Spending lots of time with them
- Helping them solve their problems
- Meeting with them regularly
- Joining their associations and social media groups
- Reading their industry publications
But two more ingredients are essential:
- Truly caring about them
- Devoting nearly all of our discretionary time and money to building relationships and selling into that vertical
Here's the thing:
It's easy to simply use their insider words in your communication (website, collateral, marketing, sales).
But they'll know you're an imposter unless you're committed to their success.
Questions to ponder:

👉 Do we genuinely understand our target buyer?
